sVo Sunday Night Showdown 133
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
3rd July 2022
The entrance video package for Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena. The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show!
The cameras cut away from the announcers to Jon Page’s office backstage, where the sVo Owner is sitting behind his desk staring into the camera, ready to give a presidential like address. Page as always is wearing a smart black suit, and shuffles his notes in front of him before preparing to talk.
Jon Page: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Showdown!”
Small cheer from the fans watching live on the big screen in the arena.
Jon Page: “Tonight is the last Showdown before one of our biggest events of the year, the Ultimate Victory PPV where we will crown the Victory Cup winner for 2022! Now Ultimate Victory was the first sVo PPV way back in 2007, and the Victory Cup has been won by the likes of Mike Best, Gunner Lang and James Von Drake along the way!”
Big cheer from the fans.
Jon Page: “This year has been one of the most exciting Victory Cup tournaments of all time, and we have our final four with any of the survivors in the tournament more than capable of winning the whole thing and going on to get a shot at the sVo Championship!”
An ‘Athena’ chant breaks out in the arena, with the fans having a clear favourite of who they want to emerge victorious.
Jon Page: “To raise the stakes even higher, all four competitors will be in action tonight in some high stake match ups! Firstly Athena will be defending his Roulette Championship in our opening match, with the roulette wheel picking her challenger to be none other than Junior Gambino of Blood Money!”
Big cheer from the crowd for Athena, a big boo for Gambino.
Jon Page: “Following up that title match will be another one, with Alissia Young looking for another submission win as she faces former Roulette Champion Absolute Zero for the TapOut Championship!”
Mixed reaction from the crowd towards both of the competitors.
Jon Page: “In our third match of the evening, it doesn’t get much bigger as Johnny Moretti of Blood Money….”
Nuclear heat from the fans.
Jon Page: “… takes on his former Horizon team mate and now hated rival Gunner Lang!”
Massive pop from the fans.
Jon Page: “And to round things off, one of the favourites for this year’s tournament, ‘the Dark Horse’ Curtis Knight will take on the dangerous Bronson Johnson!”
Loud cheers for Knight.
Jon Page: “Now we have plenty more exciting matches for you tonight, so buckle up and enjoy the show!”
The fans begin an ‘sVo, sVo, sVo’ chant as the scene fades out.
sVo Roulette Championship
Athena (c) vs. Junior Gambino
As the celebrations for Junior Gambino begin to clear for his first ever championship win in the sVo, the fans are on their feet as “Family Ties” by Baby Keen & Kendrick Lamar hits the sound system and another man hoping to win gold appears on the entrance stage! Kenneth D Williams, who in two weeks will challenge for the sVo Championship at the Ultimate Victory PPV, poses on the top of the entrance ramp, before slowly making his way down towards the ring. Williams rolls under the bottom rope again and poses for the fans, before grabbing a microphone from the ring announcer, Natasha Ortiz, and waiting for the music to fade out.
Kenneth D Williams: “Las Vegas! What’s up?”
There is a big pop from the sold-out Las Vegas crowd for the ‘Human Highlight Reel’.
Kenneth D Williams: “I am out here tonight because I am only two weeks away from one of the biggest matches of my career, a shot at the sVo Championship! I scratched and clawed my way to the top here in the sVo with one of the longest reigns with the Las Vegas Championship that this company has ever seen, yet for some reason I still get no respect from the Champion!”
There is a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Kenneth D Williams: “At Ultimate Victory I don’t want any excuses like Vorheez underestimated me or he wasn’t ready for the match! I want there to be no doubt at the end of the night that I deserve to hold that gold aloft! That is why I want Vorheez to get his ass out here now and pick an opponent for me tonight!”
Williams hops back and forth on his feet for a few seconds waiting to see if the Champion will answer him, before “Abominator” by Doyle hits the sound system to a huge pop from the fans! Williams smirks as out onto the top of the entrance ramp steps the sVo Champion, William Vorheez, flanked by the sVo Tag Team Champions, the Black Brothers! The fans are on their feet for the Champions, as Vorheez and the Black Brothers unhook the belts from around their waists before raising them up into the air in unison whilst standing at the top of the ramp.
Kenneth D Williams: “Pretty impressive sight, too bad you all ain’t going to be able to do that come Ultimate Victory…..”
All eyes are on the Champion, as Vorheez stares down at the challenger from the top of the entrance ramp.
William Vorheez: “Kenny…. You don’t mind if I call you Kenny do you kid?”
Williams shouts something back to Vorheez which is inaudible.
William Vorheez: “You see that’s how you come across to me by begging for my attention and respect, you come across just like some kind of insecure kid who knows that he doesn’t belong in the same ring as an sVo legend like me.”
There is a mixed reaction from the crowd as Kenneth D Williams glares back at the Champion.
William Vorheez: “But seeing as you won’t let up, let me teach you a lesson. You say I can pick any opponent for you tonight?”
Williams nods his head and shouts at Vorheez to bring it.
William Vorheez: “Well then let’s see what set of balls you have. I pick these two opponents for you tonight!”
Vorheez points either side of him at the Tag Team Champions to a big mixed reaction from the crowd.
William Vorheez: “You last ten minutes in the ring against these two then you have my respect…. Unless you want to admit you can’t hang…..”
All eyes are on ‘the Human Highlight Reel’ in the middle of the ring for his reply.
Kenneth D Williams: “Please…. Last ten minutes? I will beat both of them tonight and then we will see who is respected when I beat you for that title!”
Vorheez looks to his left and his right at the two giant standing alongside him.
William Vorheez: “Kid, if you beat both of these guys tonight then you can even pick the stipulation for our match! How about you just worry about surviving first, it would be a real pain trying to find a replacement opponent at this short notice…..”
Vorheez tosses the microphone down to the floor and raises his belt in the air one last time, before turning his back on the challenger before he can get any more words in.
Does Kenneth D Williams know what he has got himself in for tonight in a handicap match against the sVo Tag Team Champions?
The camera heads backstage to the Blood Money locker room, where Anthony Moretti, Joe Barone & Johnny Moretti are all celebrating the victory earlier this evening by Junior Gambino, the newest member of the group!
Joe Barone pops open a bottle of champagne, whilst Anthony Moretti hands out the glasses and Junior Gambino stares at his title belt in almost disbelief.
Anthony Moretti: “This is what it is all about gentlemen! Savor the moment!”
Moretti begins to top up the glasses of everyone, apart from his half brother Johnny Moretti who refuses.
Johnny Moretti: “Put mine on ice little brother, I still have a match tonight and I want to have a clear head to teach Gunner Lang another lesson in the ring! Don’t worry though guys, there will be plenty more champagne to drink once you win the tag team titles and I win the Victory Cup at the PPV!”
Anthony Moretti: “Buona fortuna!!”
Anthony Moretti and Joe Barone toast the new sVo Roulette Champion, whilst Johnny Moretti watches on, focused.
Junior Gambino: “Thanks guys, now time to find me a chick for tonight to christen this belt if you know what I am saying!”
Gambino leaves the room with his title belt, whilst the rest of the group look on slightly disgusted.
sVo TapOut Championship Match
Alissia Young (c) vs. Absolute Zero
Johnny Moretti vs. Gunner Lang
The cameras head backstage after the big win for Johnny Moretti over his old rival, where Katie Smith is standing by with the now former sVo Roulette Champion Athena!
Katie Smith: “Athena, that must be a real tough blow to lose your title tonight, especially when you only a few weeks away from the semifinal and potentially final of the Victory Cup?”
Athena: “Katie, it’s a real kick in the teeth you know. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and this will make me stronger at Ultimate Victory! There are no second chances now by completing ten defenses of the Roulette Championship. I know that if I want to get a shot at the sVo Championship then I HAVE to win that Victory Cup at Ultimate Victory!”
There is a big cheer from the crowd, but before Katie Smith can even ask another question, she is interrupted by the sight of Alissia Young walking into the scene with her sVo TapOut Championship proudly displayed.
Alissia Young: “Bitch please, you are not making it into the final let alone winning this thing! Take a look at what a REAL Champion looks like! Someone who doesn’t bottle it under the pressure!”
Young holds the TapOut Championship belt inches from Athena’s nose to rub it in even more. However, it doesn’t last for long as Athena quickly loses her cool and nails Young with a big right hand. Katie Smith quickly exits stage left as Athena and Alissia Young brawl around the interview area before security rushes in to break apart the two rivals.
With tensions running high, will either Athena or Alissia Young be able to survive their semi final encounter at the Ultimate Victory PPV to get to the final, or will they both take each other out of the equation?
Curtis Knight vs. Bronson Johnson
Las Vegas Championship #1 Contenders Match
Money Malone vs. Carny Sinclair
As Carny Sinclair celebrates capturing a shot at the Las Vegas Championship at the Ultimate Victory PPV, the cameras head backstage where Darwin Jones is standing alongside Katie Smith! Jones towers over the pretty interviewer, and there is a big pop from the fans for the former Tag Team Champion.
Katie Smith: “Darwin, I know you have a big main event match later tonight so thank you for joining me quickly! Now what the fans really want to know is….”
Darwin Jones: “Let me stop you there Katie, what the fans really want to know is how I feel after losing to Kyle McRae last time out on Showdown isn’t it….”
Smith nods her head in embarrassment.
Darwin Jones: “Let me take nothing away from Kyle McRae, he is a hell of a wrestler and beat me fair and square…. But I should be winning that match! I want to be challenging for the biggest prizes here in the sVo, so I should not be losing that match!”
Jones stares off into space for a few seconds.
Darwin Jones: “Truth be told, and I hate to admit this, I went into that match with Hugo Ryzing in my head from earlier in the night. My god damn friend who stabbed me in the back…… until I get him done and dusted in the ring at Ultimate Victory then there is no way that I can progress here in the sVo!”
Katie Smith: “Well you do have that big main event match against the Las Vegas Champion tonight. Are you saying you don’t feel confident of winning?”
Darwin Jones: “I am saying that Big Aug is also one hell of a wrestler, you can’t be the Las Vegas Champion and not be! However unfortunately for Big Aug, tonight in my head this isn’t Showdown, and he isn’t Big Aug…. tonight, in my head this is Ultimate Victory, and my opponent is Hugo Ryzing! I apologies in advance for what I am about to do!!”
Jones confidently strides away from the interview area as the camera cuts out.
